The problem

Spanish Should Not Feel Like a Never-Ending Memory Test

Many students can memorize a vocabulary list and still struggle to understand a question, form an original sentence, speak aloud, or see how the pieces of the language actually fit together.
  • My child studies but still freezes during quizzes.

  • They know individual words but cannot build a sentence.

  • They are afraid to participate because they might be wrong.

  • Small gaps are turning into bigger problems.

The problem is not that your child cannot learn Spanish. They need the right sequence, enough guided practice, and a safe place to use the language.

The solution

A Complete Foundation—Not Another Hour of Homework Help

Spanish in 12 follows a structured progression. Every lesson connects speaking, listening, vocabulary, and grammar to practical communication, so each week builds directly on the last.
  1. Understand

Clear explanations of how the language works.

  2. Practice

Guided repetition that builds real recall.

  3. Communicate

Speaking with a purpose in every class.

  4. Build Confidence

    Participation becomes comfortable.

The small cohort matters. With a maximum of 10 students, your child gets the peer interaction that makes conversation feel natural while still receiving individual feedback from their teacher.

Outcomes

What Your Child Will Be Able to Do

By the end of the 12 weeks, students should be able to:
  • Introduce themselves and participate in a basic conversation
  • Ask and answer common questions
  • Build original sentences using foundational patterns
  • Use essential present-tense verbs and high-frequency vocabulary
  • Understand the main idea of beginner-level spoken and written Spanish
  • Speak with clearer pronunciation and less anxiety
  • Study vocabulary and prepare for assessments more effectively
  • Enter or continue Spanish I with greater confidence

How it works

How the Program Works

  1. 01

    Establish the Foundation

Students complete an initial skills check and begin with the language patterns that make everything else easier to understand.

  2. 02

Practice in a Small, Supportive Cohort

Students meet twice a week, speak during every class, and receive immediate guidance in a maximum group of ten.

  3. 03

    Demonstrate Real Progress

Students complete a final conversation and receive a progress summary with recommended next steps.

Fit

Who This Program Is For

An honest look at where Spanish in 12 helps most — and where another option would serve your family better.

Good Fit

  • Student is in Grades 7–12, in Spanish I or rebuilding the foundation
  • Student is entering or currently taking Spanish I
  • Student needs stronger foundational skills
  • Student can attend both weekly sessions
  • Homeschool student seeking structured live instruction and conversation practice
  • Family wants a structured, supportive program
  • Student is willing to participate and practice

Not the Right Fit

  • Student needs advanced or AP Spanish instruction
  • Family is seeking last-minute homework completion
  • Student needs an accredited course or school credit
  • Student cannot regularly attend the live sessions
  • Student expects recordings to replace regular attendance at live classes
  • Family wants entirely self-paced instruction

Spanish in 12 is also a strong fit for homeschool students who want a structured Spanish foundation, live teacher instruction and regular interaction with peers. The program can supplement a family’s homeschool curriculum but does not independently provide accredited school credit.

The comparison

How This Compares to Private Tutoring

A private Spanish tutor typically costs $30–$50 per hour. For the same 24 hours of instruction Spanish in 12 provides, that's $720–$1,200 — often without a structured curriculum behind it.

$720–$1,200 ($30–$50/hour)

Spanish in 12 isn't a replacement for one-on-one tutoring — it's a complete, structured alternative that costs less and gives your child a cohort to practice with, not just an hour of undivided attention with no plan behind it.
